Job Summary
We are seeking a contract-to-hire Network Technician to support industrial and commercial networking projects across Middle Tennessee. This role is ideal for junior technicians or candidates with light experience who want to grow into structured cabling, hardware installs, and field networking work. You will assist with installs, service calls, SLA-driven response, and general low-voltage tasks under the guidance of the lead technician.
Compensation
- $18 - $28 per hour depending on experience
- Higher rates for urgent SLA response calls
- Paid drive time for emergency site visits
- $250 commission for each referred lead that becomes a paying client
Duties
- Pulling, terminating, and testing Cat6 cabling
- Labeling and documenting network drops
- Mounting and replacing switches, access points, and enclosures
- Assisting with network upgrades and client onboarding
- Troubleshooting basic connectivity issues
- Responding to on-call/SLA tickets during assigned availability windows
- Maintaining clean, safe work areas and following site safety rules
Requirements
- Basic familiarity with Cat5e/Cat6 cabling and hand tools
- Ability to terminate keystones and ends with guidance
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and work on ladders
- Comfortable working in industrial environments
- Eligible for a background check
- Bonus: Experience with Ubiquiti, Omada, or Mikrotik hardware
